June 6th/7th, 2008
So Friday, the 6th of June to be exact, was the day we'd been waiting for a very long time (since February xD) and in the morning they called me if I'd able to work from 12-9 pm and I said yes, only to have a way to spend my time. (Last time, Mo and I bored the hell out of us xD). So I finished working at 9 pm. I went home and packed my last stuff and watched some telly to make the last 2 hours go faster.
I left home at 11 pm and I walked to the railroad station. I took my train to Eindhoven and I waited for the bus that normally would arrive at 11.59 pm. But I already knew it was going to be late, because at 11 pm it didn't even left in Utrecht (Kris departed there in the same bus). So I talked to some English guys for an hour and then at 0.45 am the coach arrived at the railroad station. I met Kris in the bus and we talked a lot, listened to some music, laughed a bit and stayed awake until the first stop at a fuel station nearby Antwerpen. We bought something to drink and went to the loo and boarded the bus again.
Somewhere between leaving there and arriving in Calais, Kris had a small accident with her bottle of fruit drink.
We didn't need to go to the xray stuff with our bags and the French douane! Yay for that!! The only thing we need to do was walk through the English douane to check our passports. So when we were in the bus again, we had to wait for another half an hour, before the bus went on the train. I couldn't sleep at all while the bus was on the train, because it was bloody f***ing hot in the bus. As soon as we were on the road again in England, I fell asleep immediatelly and I came back to the land of the living somewhere in the suburbs of London.
When Kris and I arrived in London (an hour late), we went to Victoria Station, went to the toilet and changed clothes. (Yay! for the cast change shirts!!) After that we waited for Mo to arrive around 9 am. Mo found us pretty quick and we took a small look at the AVT (Apollo Victoria Theatre) to see the people camping for day seats and we bought a frappochino at Starbucks.
After that, we bought our train tickets and first went to the hostel to drop our stuff and check in (which wasn't possible before 2 pm for some stupid reason; not that it really bothered us, because we were allowed to drop our stuff there).
Our next stop was the Dress Circle, because I really wanted to buy the soundtrack of the musical 'BKLYN' (Brooklyn). Kris bought some other stuff and Mo didn't buy anything I guess. The guy from the DC (Dress Circle) asked us if we were going to the cast change (I blame the shirts) and told us somethings about Kerry teaser CD and her album (which is gonna be released in 12-18 months :( ).
Because it was almost noon, we went to the Apollo Victoria because we promised to meet Lindsey there. We talked a bit and went to stage door to wait for some people. At stage door we also met Rachael and we had a lot of fun. We had the opportunity to talk with Sarah for a bit. I totally love her! She's so sweet!! Note to self: Need to go back for Earnie week. To avoid other useless information about SD, we met Dianne (Pilkington = Glinda), Mark (Evans = ensemble) and Sarah (Earnshaw = s/b Glinda) before the show.
We had some tickets for the matinee show and I was glad at some point CJ was playing. Somehow I wasn't really pleased with her the last time I saw her and I must say she was way better now. I really loved her, although I prefer Kerry. Besides CJ, the muck up matinee was plain awesome! A flying monkey in a bikini, small role swaps from Nessa and Boq, CJ's and Dianne's freestyle Elphie Dance. The Harry Potter glasses of Nadine, the rocking Lion cub, Oliver hiding behind the statue and so on and so on. It was really funny!
After the matinee, we went to stay door again to meet Jasmine, Ella and Beth and we also talked with CJ for a bit. We also went to Victoria Place to grab a bite and we made sure we were back in time for the evening performance with the mighty Kerry Ellis.
Mo and my seats were next to Ella's and Beth's, so we had some fun and apparently we said things that spoiled it for others. Although none of us can remember it xD. Camilla's mother made a group photo from our shirts, because Camilla's running Kerry's fan site (not the official one).
The show was awesome!! Dianne was 100% possessed at some points. The crowd went wild at some points and it was a night worth remembering for years! Especially the witch fight!! xD The speech was so sweet and Oliver also mentioned it was CJ and Kerry (Washington)'s last show, besides 11 other ensemble members. Besides Kerry going to Broadway to reprise the part of Elpaba, Nigel (Planer), Katie (Rowley Jones) and James (Gillan) were leaving the show for good.
SD was really crowded, but civil
June 8th, 2008
So we woke at 9 am next morning, because we had to leave our room at 10. We packed our stuff and went to the basement to eat. We talked a bit with a guy from South-Africa in both Dutch and English. That's weird you know... talking Dutch to someone you don't know in England. After breakfast, we went to Oxford street to buy Kris her shoes and we went to the Disney store. Mo and I also bought the most awesome socks ever! (Nessa's socks, only green/black striped and pink/black striped!).
When Kris had bought her shoes, we went to Hyde park and tried to record Popular, which ended in a disaster. We're probably going to try it again in Central Park this summer. To keep traditions, we wanted to eat at the Pizzahut at Covent Garden, but we first went to the Cyber Candyshop to buy some expensive Chinese candybars. At the Pizzahut we had our usual half 'Hot and spicy'/half 'Hawaiian' pizza with unlimited refill orange juice and we loved it! We made some funny photos from our 'Pink goes good with green' shirts and unfortunatelly we had to leave too soon, to bring Mo to the Victoria Coach Station, because her coach left at 6 pm.
Kris and I went to Camden Lock after we dropped Mo at the VCS to buy a tshirt. We went to Westminster to buy something to eat and took a big detour with the tube to VCS, to catch our bus this time. During the detour, Kris left her food at the tube station, so we had to go to another Tesco to get some new food for her. At 11.30 our coach left, and for some reason the way back went much faster (and that's not only because the bus driver drove like a maniac) than the way to London. I was home an hour early. Thanks to the nice conductor at the train :D Otherwise I'd have had to wait 30 minutes for the next train.
To describe this weekend in a few words: It was awesome!!
